Advanced Accounting Fabritius 201 Accounting is a precise, logical skill that is technical in nature and that involves the learning of terminology, the application of complex procedures and the preparation of specifically formatted reports according to law (GAAP). To be successful as a student of accounting must devote a significant amount of time outside of class on a regular basis working problems and doing reading assignments. Assignment are long and detailed and must be completed to gain full understanding. Successful completion of the course depends upon good planning, self-discipline and a willingness to work hard. This dedication mirrors the work ethic require of accountants in the real world. This course will very closely mirror Accounting 201 and 202 at South Puget Sound Community College. I expect that for 10 credits of college courses that there will be some need for outside studying. I would encourage getting a group together, taking advantage of http://www.swcollege.com/acct/warren/waren_acct_20e/warren.html, and asking questions whenever necessary. I truly believe that there is a bright future in accounting for anybody who chooses to explore it as a career.
