Communications/Marketing Intern (unpaid position)
Are you obsessed with finding and sharing stories online? Do your friends look to you on
Facebook and Twitter for the latest trends, ideas, and memes? Meals on Wheels of Chemung
County, Inc. is seeking a Communications/Marketing intern to assist in our daily operations. We
area a well respected not for profit located in Elmira, NY and have been operating since 1970.
The primary duties of the intern will assist with all aspects of external communications
including:
 Creating and maintaining our general website content using Homestead
 Taking, organizing and editing photos/video throughout program and at events
 Writing press releases and letters
 Working on marketing publications (creating and designing)
 Contributing to newsletter
 Helping with Social Media outreach (creating/updating facebook, twitter, etc.)
 Brainstorming new ways to reach the general public
 Other duties as assigned
Reports to: Executive Director
Qualifications:
Self directed and self motivated
Creative and Collaborative
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Comfortable with new media
Adept with social media platforms
Comfortable with technology
Other Desirable skills:
Comfortable with Microsoft Office
Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
Graphic Design or photography skills a plus
Meals on Wheels of Chemung County, Inc is an exciting fast paced organization that uses 200+
volunteers to make a difference in the lives of seniors and the disabled in our community. As an
intern you will get to work with our staff and volunteers and will work on real projects that will
help us grow.
