Business Development Intern Company Background eCap Network LLC is a start‐up company focused on delivering comprehensive energy management services to small and mid‐sized companies and 3rd sector organizations. Summary of Position The Business Development Intern is responsible for building a knowledge base and identifying potential market opportunities for eCap Network. Much of the work will focus on building an up‐to‐date database on Federal, State, and Local programs promoting energy efficiency and other forms of alternative energy. The Business Development Intern will analyze these programs, and help determine how they impact market opportunities for eCap Network. Reporting Relationships The Research Intern reports to and is evaluated by one of the Managing Partners. Essential Functions Knowledge Base Development • Lead the development of a knowledge base around energy programs and incentives. Utilize the Salesforce.com and other platforms to organize and analyze the information in a usable manner. Review studies and research papers relating to energy efficiency and alternative energy. • Market Research and Business Development • • • • Assist in the identification and solicitation of potential clients. Support the development of proposals to clients Prepare applications to potential funding sources Review, structure and catalogue: o emerging government and utility programs and regulations o relevant organizations and trade associations related to energy efficiency o individual and organizational certification programs related to energy efficiency skills and knowledge Qualifications Education and Skills • • • • Must be working towards a Bachelors degree. Preference for Masters degree students. Some academic background or work in a technical or related field is preferred. Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written and public speaking. Analytical skills, including the ability to collect quantitative and qualitative information, prioritize key elements, determine key objectives, and act strategically to promote desired programming. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access and similar database programs. • Hours: The internship will last for ten (10) weeks.
