Guilford County Schools ACES Program Weekly Theme: Blast Off – Other Activities Space Ships Make great space ships for your children to play with. Put two Styrofoam bowls together so that the tops are together. Cover the two bowls with aluminum foil. You can then decorate them with stickers and other things to make them look more real. Flying Saucer What You Need: Two CDs for Each Child (AOL Free CDs work great) Glue Bubble cup lid (like for slurpies) Paint Various Other Art Supplies What You Do: Glue the Two CDs together (so that only the shiny parts can be seen). Then paste the lid on so that it looks like the cabin of the flying saucer. Then let your children finish the design of the flying saucer anyway that they can. Tie string to the other end to make a hanger for Saturn. Shoe Box Planet Mobile Make a sun and 8 planets out of paper. Decorate the circles how you would like them (the sun is usually yellow).
