Space Ships
Make great space ships for your children to play with. Put two Styrofoam bowls together
so that the tops are together. Cover the two bowls with aluminum foil. You can then
decorate them with stickers and other things to make them look more real.
Flying Saucer
What You Need:
 Two CDs for Each Child (AOL Free CDs work great)
 Glue
 Bubble cup lid (like for slurpies)
 Paint
 Various Other Art Supplies
What You Do:
 Glue the Two CDs together (so that only the shiny parts can be seen). Then
paste the lid on so that it looks like the cabin of the flying saucer. Then let your
children finish the design of the flying saucer anyway that they can.
Saturn
What You Need:
 One CDs for Each Child (AOL Free CDs work great)
 Glue
 Styrofoam ball
 Glitter
 Paint
 Paper clips
 String
What You Do:
Cut the styrofoam ball in half and glue each side to the cd. Students can decorate the
foam ball and cd with glitter to make it look more like Saturn’s rings. When the project is
dry, unbend a paperclip and insert one end into the top styrofoam ball. Tie string to the
other end to make a hanger for Saturn.
Shoe Box Planet Mobile
Make a sun and 8 planets out of paper. Decorate the circles how you would like them
(the sun is usually yellow). (You can glue them on cardboard.) Hole punch a hole. Place
string or yarn through the hole. Tie off. Make holes on the top of a shoe box. Make a
space background. Tie the sun first and then the planets: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars,
Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

into small strips. Tape them to the bottom inside of the tube. Using a marker write in the
side of the tube " USS (child's name)".
