Comprehensive School Plan, amendment
The principal shares DC-CAS results and LSAT discusses root causes of
shortfalls, especially in reading, and considerable gains in math.
Math – gains: Math Club as well as other interventions by classroom had
a decisive impact on achievement.
Reading – no gains, no losses: The results, in their details, are better than
reported, in that many students lack just one point to make it to the next
quartile. Still, intervention will be needed along the following lines:

Boys and reading: more informational texts, introduce reading in
what they do elsewhere (e.g. Cub Scouts), book clubs

Generally: book clubs, Reading tutors (Diane will call St. Anselms to
follow up, Sonja will inquire with AU to see if the no longer existing
partnership with Catholic could be replaced), foster/donate classroom
magazine subscriptions, expand vocabulary program into 3rd – 5th
grade (Words Their Way grant application with CHCF)
Family Engagement Plan, amendment
Amy will pool input on Family Engagement Plan. The break-out
discussion shows that Maury surpassed family engagement projections in
many areas. No shortfalls were identified.
Enrollment update
Although three more students are starting on Monday, enrollment is still
about 20 students below reasonable projections and 40 below the imposed
projections. If interested, additional students could enter: 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th
grade. Chantese will follow up with Air Force Base, from where we have
fewer children this year. As of yet, it is unclear what implications may be.
