March 09, 2010 Passed Unanimously March 9, 2010, by the Department of Writing, Reading, and Library Science, A RESOLUTION AFFIRMING THE CURRENT UWS CAMPUS POLICY REGARDING FULL-TIME TEACHING LOAD 1) The Writing, Reading, and Library Science Department acknowledges, affirms, and endorses the current policy regarding teaching load for faculty and academic staff as explained in the UWS Unclassified Staff Handbook / Policies and Procedures, which says that the “normal undergraduate teaching load for a full-time faculty or academic staff member is 12 credit hours per term or the equivalent thereof in contact situations such as laboratories, studio courses, and supervision.” AND, FURTHERMORE, 2) The Writing, Reading, and Library Science Department requests that the Faculty and Academic Staff Senates acknowledge, affirm, and endorse the current policy regarding teaching load for faculty and academic staff as explained in the UWS Unclassified Staff Handbook / Policies and Procedures, which says that the “normal undergraduate teaching load for a full-time faculty or academic staff member is 12 credit hours per term or the equivalent thereof in contact situations such as laboratories, studio courses, and supervision.” _____________________________________________ Here’s a link to the current Handbook.
