AT THE PORTMAN HALL, BLANDFORD ROAD, SHILLINGSTONE
PRESENT: John Paul (Chairman), Cllr Kay Farrell, Cllr Craig Oakley, John Blount, Paul Clark and
John Glanville.
In attendance: NDDC Cllr Sherry Jesperson, Malcolm Wilson (Clerk) and 1 member of the public.
1. Apologies for absence: Received and accepted from Bob Yorath and James Cooper.
2. Declarations of interest: None.
3. Minutes of meeting on 27th May 2014: The minutes of this meeting were approved and signed.
4. Matters arising from these minutes: JP reported that the Feathered Nest and the Seniors Club
would be available as collection points. PC has yet to speak to the school but does not envisage any
difficulties. JP will contact Sarah Clatworthy-Blake concerning newcomers.
5. Progress on maps: PC produced potential final maps – colour A3 and black and white A4
versions. After a discussion it was agreed to use the A3 colour version with the flood plain restored.
PB will get a final version for sign off in the next day or so and JP will explore options and prices for
having 1,000 copies printed. The map will be for illustrative purposes only
6. Update on draft Questionnaire format and arrangements for distribution etc: 1,000 copies
have been printed. Due to delays with the maps the return date will need to be altered manually.
Options include 27th July, or 7th August but a final decision can be made once the final maps are
printed. All deliveries should be made within a two or three day period. It was agreed not to undertake
a doorstep reminder and collection exercise, but home addresses of some on the NP Committee could
also be used as collection points

7. Renewable energy: JP had attended a seminar on 9th June at Fontwell Magna, run by NDDC
Sustainability Manager. Of the five presentations the most interesting had been from Jodie Giles of
Region SW. He thought she might be worth inviting along if any planning applications for renewable
energy projects are received in the future. The prospect of DCC using the White Pit farm for solar
panels was discussed but NDDC Cllr Jesperson thought DCC’s prime driver was to raise cash from
asset sales rather than developing infrastructure sites.

away and gave apologies
10. Date and venue of next meeting: This will be at 7.00 pm on Monday 4th August – venue TBA.
