September/October 2015 Dear Kindergarten families, We will be using the children's Spanish notebooks to create a picture dictionary of all the new Spanish vocabulary we learn throughout the year. Since the children are not yet writing, I will be providing them with cutouts for the Spanish words. They will need to cut out the Spanish words and glue them into their notebooks. Then, they will draw a picture or paste clip art or a picture from a magazine next to each word to illustrate the meaning of the word. The underlined word at the top is the title for that section of vocabulary and should be glued to the top of the first page of that section. Please help your children to cut out the Spanish color words on the attached sheet and glue them into their Spanish notebooks. After they have glued the words, help them draw a circle and color it in with the corresponding color. I am attaching a reference sheet in case you need to know the meanings of the words. You can also access flashcards on the computer to review colors and greetings on my website (http://www.hauppauge.k12.ny.us/Domain/239) under, “Kindergarten Vocabulary Flashcards”. Please return the completed notebook to class by ___________________. Thank you very much for your help! I look forward to continuing to work with you and your children.
