Brian Jones (Executive Producer/Free2BU Productions, Writer – Limited Engagement) Over the years I have been working diligently as an artist who is about the process of creating and performing live theatre. I have developed my process by studying and working with such great luminaries as acclaimed film, television and stage actress Ruby Dee, the late George Houston Bhass, founder of Rites and Reason Theatre, and writer, composer James McBride to name a few. In addition, I have learned the business of live theatre by working for such notable equity theatres as the La Jolla Playhouse, Ensemble Arts Theatre and Delaware Theatre Company in Marketing, Company Management and Arts Education. My journey over the years has prepared me for this moment of producing my first Equity Showcase in New York City and realizing a vision that started back in college. Free 2BU is committed to producing quality theatrical works that promotes understanding, compassion, humor, and fosters the idea of seeing people for who they are and not what we want or think they should be. As we know it is only when we accept people for where they are that change can really begin to occur. I would be remiss if I didn’t take a moment to express my love and gratitude for all who have supported me over the years; for my sister, Nichole Donje and my brother in law, Scott Allinson of TAPt we did it y’all and to think this came about over a card game of Spades. For my family thank you for allowing me to dream and for my friends from coast to coast who have become my extended family for challenging me and never allowing me to give up no matter how many times I became a stubborn bull. To all of you I want to say everything that I am is because you love me (oh Celine my heart will live on) – joke intended! As our country moves forward with change let us never forget that art has the power to bring about change and your support as a patron of the arts can ensure its continuation for generations to come.
