Program Description: This one-day program will provide valuable information for those individuals who are
responsible in meeting the requirements of the Environment of Care, Life Safety programs, Hospital Risk
Assessments and Emergency Management for the Pennsylvania Department of Life Safety, The Joint
Commission and other agencies having juristrictions (AHJs), i.e., Factory Mutual, National Electrical Codes,
etc.
ASHE updates .
The information will be provided so the attendees can be able to implement a practical, continuously compliant
program in healthcare facilities and achieve maximum performance while effectively preparing for unscheduled
Joint Commission and State surveys. Attendees will also receive specific guidance in how to understand and
interpret the most serious deficiencies that are common in many surveys. Practical examples will also include
an explanation of “best practices” that will help to move your own program to the top and guarantee success.
Handout materials will include current scoring sheets and survey
checklists as well as forms, worksheets and sample policies that can be easily adapted to your own program.
Sufficient time will also be provided during each section for questions and discussion.
Information on the 2015 Joint Commission survey methodology and changes to the standards.

1. PA Life Safety updates on CMS Waivers questions.
2. ASHE Updates.
3. Changes to the 2015 standards that may affect your survey outcome.
4. The specific responsibilities CHFM process and the AMP test process.
5. How to achieve proper Hsopiatl Risk Assessments.
6. How to incorporate “best practices” to enhance your existing programs.
7. How to use proven ideas and techniques to achieve survey success.
