This position supports Risk Management and will be responsible for portfolio management, portfolio analytics/reporting, and assisting with underwriting lease/loan transactions. Essential Responsibilities Monitor the valuation and residual values of the rail and locomotive portfolio by running cash flow valuation models and obtaining 3rd party appraisals. Assist in testing the Valuation and Residual models for GE Rail Services’ fleet, and documenting and reporting results to GE Capital senior management Ensure compliance with portfolio management procedures, with focus on reviewing financial statements of customers and completing quarterly and annual account reviews. In addition, ensure that AntiMoney & Laundering (AML) tests are completed in timely fashion, and assist Contracts team with making certain that customers fulfill insurance requirements outlined in lease contracts Conduct financial and asset analysis for new credit requests and prepare risk assessments for Risk Managers. Focus on clear and consistent approach to mitigate financial, environmental, legal, regulatory, and other risks. Assist with preparation of inventory reports of idled railcars and locomotives. Perform deep dive to explain month over month variances in inventory levels, including what is driving variances. In addition, monitor aging of inventory to identify trends and potential impairment issues, and recommend corrective actions (i.e. scrap/sell) Participate as a team member in special projects aimed at improving business processes and analytic tools. Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years of underwriting, account management or general finance experience. Experience conducting analysis, interpreting financial performance, and assessing risk exposure. Experience preparing and delivering presentations (both verbal and written). Demonstrated ability to work with various financial software applications. Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Desired Characteristics Knowledge and experience with evaluating equipment finance transactions in a wide variety of industries.
