Meek School of Journalism and New Media – Bachelor of Arts in Journalism News-­‐Editorial/Print and Broadcast Journalism Emphasis 1) The Bachelor of Arts in Journalism degree requires 124 hours and 42 of the 124 hours must be taken at the advanced level (300 level or above). 2) The journalism major requires at least 36 hours of journalism courses; broadcast JOUR majors entering in Fall 2014 must include elective internship credit hours. 3) Students may take up to 52 hours of journalism courses. Students who exceed 52 hours of journalism courses must exceed the MINOR – All B.A.J. candidates must have a minor. List electives and minor courses below. In addition, students must take at least 72 hours outside the Meek School. 4) A "C" or better is required for all JOUR and IMC courses and each course may only be attempted a maximum of two times.
