Getting Involved. Together. You took care of our families. Now let our McFamily® take care of you. McDonald’s has a history of giving back to communities and to those that have given so much of themselves. Our commitment to service, quality and value offer a strong connection to America’s service men and women and their spouses. They are our heroes, under the Golden Arches® and in their communities. Here are some of their stories: Dexter Parayno Store Manager Jorge Rosende Field Operations Manager After being Honorably Discharged from serving on Active Duty in the U.S. Army, Jorge Rosende worked as a Human Resources consultant for McDonald’s. Since then, he has found opportunity and growth under the Golden Arches, taking him to his management role today in McDonald’s Operations Department. Jorge found his first job at McDonald’s on an employment website 13 years ago and says he uses many of the same skills he developed in the military to grow and excel within the company. “McDonald’s is very similar to the military. It has a very strong mission to provide the best for the public and to take care of its people.” Fifteen years ago in southern California, Dexter Parayno started at McDonald’s as a temporary assistant for the Vice President of Operations. He had recently joined the Marine Corps Reserves. “The Vice President saw something in me and she decided to offer me a permanent job.” After about a year in that position, Parayno was deployed to Iraq and later to Afghanistan. All the while, his colleagues at McDonald’s remained supportive and management promised to save his job for him until he returned. “My team sent me care packages and a banner signed by everyone at work to show their support.” Upon his return, Parayno transitioned into restaurant operations as a manager in training. He has worked his way up and today, as General Manager, leads his team to serve the residents and communities in San Diego, Calif. Perks.
