ATI Essentials – Part II Hello, again! By now, you have read ATI Essentials (part I) and have created your ATI account! YEA! Now let’s delve into your ATI account and get started! When you go to www.atitesting.com and sign in, it opens on the homepage – this is where you can edit your account, find the e-book versions of the ATI books and go to “My Products” and “Results”. Click on “My Products” – when that page comes up, it will ask for your product ID number. *** PLEASE, this is VERY IMPORTANT!! Your product ID number is different for each campus and class. Only use the product ID number given to you by your Retention Counselor for your campus & class (Lubbock, Abilene, Permian Basin or Austin). Enter the product ID number – this will allow the site to populate with all the products that are available for you. Again, please make sure all of your pop-up blockers are disabled, that ATI is a trusted site, and that you have all the system requirements – here is the link: http://www.atitesting.com/ati_next_gen/General/TechnicalRequirements.aspx If you don’t do these things, you will have problems seeing the Skills Modules that you are required to view before your simulation clinicals! The first week! Yikes!! OK, you’ve downloaded everything you need – now go to “My Products” – you will see 3 tabs: “Proctored Assessments”, “Practice Assessments” and “Tutorials”. The Proctored Assessments are your ATI exams – you don’t have to worry about that right now! When you have an ATI exam coming up, read ATI Essentials #3 (under the Success Program tab on the School of Nursing home page). Practice Assessments are tests to help you prepare for the Proctored Assessments. The Tutorials tab is the one that you will use immediately, so click on “Tutorials”. If you have put in your product ID number correctly, this should be populated with a list of products available to you. If you do not have a list of products, refresh the screen. If that does not populate, then sign out and sign back into the ATI site. If that doesn’t work, look for pop-ups that you may have missed. If all else fails, call your Retention Counselor. Once you have a list of products under “Tutorials”, the first product you want to try is the “ATI Nursing – Getting Started”. This is a short tutorial about navigating around the ATI site and how to use the features – very helpful and always available to answer questions you may have. The next product you want to look at is “Skills Modules” – when you click on the “+” sign to the far right, a list of all of the Skills Modules will come up. You will click on the ones that are assigned for you to complete each week – that information will be in your syllabi – follow the instructions of your course facilitators. Again, there are many other helpful items under Tutorials – click on the “Product Support Materials” button and the “How To” button (both on the homepage) to learn more about the many things that ATI has available to help you achieve success! One resource that I would encourage everyone to make time for is Nurse Logic (under Tutorials). This is a set of four modules that cover effective studying, test-taking and thinking like a nurse! You can’t get started too soon, especially the “thinking like a nurse” part! OK, that’s a good start! Again, it’s a good idea to make a folder for ATI, so you have access to these e-mails/documents in the future. If you have any problems, contact us but you are adults – we will expect you to look for your own answers before you ask for help! If you have already tried and still need help, contact your Retention Counselor or Bren Threadgill (806-543-3915).
