ATI LPN STEP® Test for Advanced Placement Nursing at MCC Saturday, September 20, 2014 12:30 PM Saturday, November 15, 2014 12:30 PM Saturday, December 13, 2014 12:30 PM The LPN STEP® Test is a requirement for LPNs seeking advanced placement into the Associate Degree Nursing program at MCC. Based on the NCLEX-­‐PN test plan, this computer based 180 question standardized test assesses the knowledge of LPNs in the following content areas: • Adult Medical Surgical • Fundamentals • Management • Maternal Newborn • Mental Health • Nursing Care of Children • Nutrition • Pharmacology How to prepare to take the ATI LPN Step® Test 1) ATI LPN STEP® review modules are available as reference materials in MCC Library 2) Review material from your practical nursing program 3) Purchase the LPN STEP® online Practice Assessment ($25.00) via www.atitesting.com . All test items are tied directly to the NCLEX-­‐PN® Test Plan and may be taken twice. 4) Use an NCLEX-­‐PN review book to assist in content review How to Register •

Go to www.atitesting.com to register for your test. If you haven’t already created an account with ATI, you will need to do so prior to registering. Cost of the LPN STEP® Test is $70.00. Print out your User Name and Password and SAVE in a safe place. Bring with you on the day of the test. The Day of the Test • Valid Photo ID, ATI User name and password • Personal calculators or electronic devices of any kind are NOT permitted. • You will have three hours to complete the 180 questions After the test • You may download your score report from your ATI account approximately one hour following the completion of your test. • See your overall Individual Score at the top of the report. Applicants must achieve the minimum 66.7% in order to remain a candidate in the program. • If you do not meet the minimum required individual score of 66.7%, refer to the Topics to Review for guidance on the items you missed. Remediate in the topic areas of need. Refer to the “How to Prepare” section at the beginning of this fact sheet. When can I re-­‐test? • You may re-­‐test after 6 months. How many times can I attempt this test? • You may take the LPN Step Test three times. • Students who are unsuccessful after three attempts will be ineligible for admission into MCC’s Advanced Placement LPN-­‐RN Hybrid NURS112.
