Page 9 Introducing Instrument Manager™ version 8.12 Redesign of the Rules Engine More Flexible Syntax • Previous versions’ syntax was based on “phrases” This limited the rules capability to those phrases that were predefined in the data elements or actions – only a limited number of data elements could have a value set by rules » e.g. {Set Test Result of} • 8.12 syntax separates many of these phrases into their component parts, increasing the potential combinations of actions and data elements Users can apply actions to data elements in combinations not previously available – e.g. {Set} {Result} {On Test} The Upgrade Reference Guide includes “Legacy – 8.12 dictionary” Page 10 Introducing Instrument Manager™ version 8.12 Redesign of the Rules Engine Enhanced Toolbox Categorization • Data Elements have been classified into four categories to facilitate their use when creating rules The Rules Manual contains an alphabetical listing of each Data Element and its respective Toolbox category Page 11 Introducing Instrument Manager™ version 8.12 Redesign of the Rules Engine “Else” as an available statement type • For rules sets using version 8.12’s native processing mode the traditional “If…..” – “Then…..” structure is expanded to an “If…..” – “Then…..” – “Else…..” structure When coupled with the more flexible 8.12 syntax the addition of Else provides an extremely powerful rules capability Page 12 Introducing Instrument Manager™ version 8.12 Redesign of the Rules Engine Audit Trail Event Monitoring • New Rule Property Can be switched from Yes to No while in Test/In Validation Useful to restrict audit trail event logging to only those events affecting patient data Page 13 Introducing Instrument Manager™ version 8.12 Any Questions about the New Rules Engine? Page 14 Introducing Instrument Manager™ version 8.12 Enhanced SM Workspace Functionality Two new Workspaces have been added • Results Review/Edit/Release - Run New data presentation format – includes the new Run Worksheet pane, along with the Specimen Worksheet pane, and the Patient Information pane • Hematology Workspace Enhances hematology workflow – includes the new Run Worksheet pane, along with the Specimen Worksheet pane, the Specimen Information pane – both the Cell Counter and Images panes tabbed for easy access. Page 15 Introducing Instrument Manager™ version 8.12 Enhanced SM Workspace Functionality • Run Worksheet Multiple instances of a specimen analysis are shown in columns rather than rows – Visual comparison of results from different runs is easily done Page 16 Introducing Instrument Manager™ version 8.12 Enhanced SM Workspace Functionality • Run Worksheet Data Presentation Multiple instances of a specimen analysis are shown in columns rather than rows – Test Results can be Released on the basis of “Run #” Page 17 Introducing Instrument Manager™ version 8.12 Enhanced SM Workspace Functionality Hematology Worksheet Page 18 Introducing Instrument Manager™ version 8.12 Enhanced SM Workspace Functionality Run Worksheet – New Actions New actions have been added to aid hematology workflow – Verify Run with Cell Counter – perform a manual differential – Edit Run with Cell Counter – edit a previously performed manual differential Page 19 Introducing Instrument Manager™ version 8.12 Enhanced SM Workspace Functionality • Hematology Worksheet– close integration with Cell Counter • Entire runs, or components of runs can be Rejected or Released as desired – Fully complete required actions with minimal clicks Page 20 Introducing Instrument Manager™ version 8.12 Enhanced SM Workspace Functionality • Hematology Worksheet– close integration with Cell Counter • Rejected Runs, or components of Runs are easily identified Page 21 Introducing Instrument Manager™ version 8.12 Enhanced SM Workspace Functionality • Hematology Worksheet– close integration with Cell Counter • Entire runs, or components of runs can be Rejected or Released as desired Page 22 Introducing Instrument Manager™ version 8.12 Enhanced SM Workspace Functionality • Hematology Worksheet – close integration with Cell Counter • Unified display of all actions Page 23 Introducing Instrument Manager™ version 8.12 Any Questions on SM Workspace Enhancements? Page 24 Introducing Instrument Manager™ version 8.12 Overall System Enhancements Notifier capabilities extended through incorporation of WTS Send Message • Popups now available when using Server 2008 or Windows 7 WTS Send Message an option for Popup Window Notifications – This popup protocol is available in all Windows operating systems supported by Data Innovations – The following services must be started: » Terminal Services » Remote Procedure Call – Detailed information regarding configuration and use of WTS Send Message is provided in the 8.12 Notifier User’s Guide Page 25 Introducing Instrument Manager™ version 8.12 Overall System Enhancements Seamless Installation Process • Streamlined process The Instrument Manger, Sentinel Security Key, and Caché installation programs have been combined onto one DVD The installation programs have been consolidated into a single process: – Minimizing required user interaction – Maximizing ease of completion Page 26 Introducing Instrument Manager™ version 8.12 Overall System Enhancements 64 Bit Operating System Support • Additional Windows versions Windows Server ® 2008 or Server 2008 R2 – Standard Edition – Enterprise Edition – 64 or 32 bit Windows® 7 Professional – 64 or 32 bit Page 27 Introducing Instrument Manager™ version 8.12 Any Questions on Overall System Enhancements?
