District Bees, Dates, and Contact Info for Coordinators The Alabama Homeschool Spelling Bee system operates in four districts, each of which sends its top three spellers to participate in our county bee on February 7, 2015. At your district bee, you must show proof of registration with a Scripps-­‐enrolled organization. Scripps-­‐enrolled schools are: Learning at Home, Shades Mountain Independent Church Academy, Auburn Classical Academy, Covenant Christian Academy, Evergreen Christian Academy, and North Alabama Christian School. See my “Learning at Home” PDF for more information and to register with Learning at Home if you are not part of any of the other five schools. Each speller may only participate in ONE district spelling bee! Please contact your district coordinator with the information requested (see Page 2). Otherwise, most questions should still be directed to me, and I will pass them on if needed. Your coordinator needs to know the name(s) of your speller(s), your name/the name of the person driving them to the bee, and a number where you/that person can be reached in the event that you do not arrive for the bee. They also need to know with which Scripps-­‐enrolled group you are registered (Learning at Home, SMICA, Auburn Classical, Covenant Christian, Evergreen Christian – Shiloh, or North AL Christian School.) They need this information by the week before your district bee, but the sooner, the better.
