PLAN DE ESTUDIOS Español 1 SEMANA 8 (WEEK 8) (del 23 de febrero al 25 de febrero) Día 1 LECCIÓN: 23 Objetivos: 1. Content Objective(s): Students will be able to demonstrate comprehension of Spanish vocab. 2. Language objective(s): Students will illustrate a Spanish story and tell it to their partner, write a Spanish story, create a dictionary page of new vocab., and read and translate the novel “Pobre Ana” Actividades 1. Activity 1: Entrance ticket- Find content and process words for the Content and Language Objectives and copy them in Portfolio. Review What we are doing and What we are learning on a T-Chart. By the end of class, I will be able to… (5 min.) 2. Activity 2: Illustrate a Spanish story. Pass out blank copies of the El cuento de…storyboard. Give students 2 minutes to on the timer to brainstorm a simple story using one of the six locations on the Word Wall. Then give them 15 minutes to illustrate the story on the story board (but NOT write it on the lines—leave those blank for now) (20 min.) 3. Activity 3: Tell your story to a partner. Divide into partners. Give each partner 5 minutes to show their illustrations and tell their story to the other partner (10 min) 4. Activity 4: Write a Spanish story. Students will now write their story on the storyboard according to the picture they drew. Switch stories with their partners and read each other´s stories to one another (30 min) 5. Activity 5: Diccionario p. 28. Pass out a blank Dictionary page to each student. Model writing definitions, etc. on the transparency (15 min) 6. Activity 6: Exit ticket-Students will rate their learning on a scale of 1-4 and translate a sentence from Spanish to English: Mónica va de compras en el centro commercial Cherry Creek (5 min) Vocabulario/Diccionario 1. Nada---swims 2. Salta---jumps 3. Pasea—walks, strolls 4. Va de compras---goes shopping 5. El parque---park 6. El centro comercial---mall 7. El cine---movie theatre 8. La piscina---pool 9. La iglesia---church 10. La playa---beach 11. A medianoche---At midnight 1st person sing/plural verb forms---more exposure Día 2 LECCIÓN: Lectura Objetivos: 1. Content Objective(s): Students will demonstrate comprehension of Spanish vocab. structures in context while reading a novel in Spanish 2. Language objective(s): Students continue reading the novel “Pobre Ana”, translate the reading, and identify main events in the novel by responding to questions in Spanish Actividades 1. Activity 1: Entrance ticket- Find content and process words for the Content and Language Objectives and copy them in Portfolio. Review What we are doing and What we are learning on a T-Chart. By the end of class, I will be able to translate one sentence from today´s reading of “Pobre Ana” (5 min.) 2. Activity 2: Continue reading “Pobre Ana” while translating and identifying main events in the novel by responding to questions in Spanish (30 min) 3.
