Academic Bridging Program Internet Resource Tip sheet
Before You Begin…
You will need:
• your U of T student card (“TCard”); and
• the Secret Activation Key you received when you got your TCard
Part 1 – Activate Your UTORid
The UTORid is a user ID and your key to important U of T services like UTORmail Webmail and
Blackboard.
Your UTORid (with password) is your key to a number of services:

MyUtoronto: news and announcements (description)
UTORschedule: institutional calendar service (faculty and staff only) (description)
First Time Users

activate your UTORid (all new students, faculty, and staff)
create your UTORid (existing faculty & staff and returning students)

Go to the main UTORid management page at https://www.utorid.utoronto.ca
Under First Time Users, click on “activate your UTORid”
In the space provided, enter your UTORid and Secret Activation Key then click “Validate”
Follow the instructions on the screen to create your utoronto email account and UTORid
password
Enter your UTORid:
Enter your Secret Activation Key:
Validate
your UTORid and Secret Activation Key.

Part 2 – ROSI
The Repository of Student Information (ROSI) is where you can access your U of T registration
details including course timetable and financial account. You can also update your contact
information through this site.

a) Go to the main ROSI site at http://www.rosi.utoronto.ca
(you can also click on the “ROSI” link in the upper right hand corner of the Webmail
screen)
b) Click the red “Login” button
c) Enter your student number and PIN and click “Login”
o the PIN is not your UTORid password – initially your PIN is set to your date of birth
in the form YYMMDD
o the first time you access ROSI, you will be required to change your initial PIN to a
new PIN number before you can proceed
o the pin you choose will be the password you will use for subsequent visits to ROSI
(if you forget your PIN number you can contact the Bridging Office to have it reset)
d) Use the menu on the left side to navigate the site

Part 3 – U of T Portal/Blackboard
The U of T Portal (Blackboard) is the University’s management learning system. From this site you
can link to course information, ROSI, Webmail, and other University of Toronto resources.

to course information if your instructor is
using Blackboard

d) To exit Blackboard you will need to:
i. Log out
ii. Completely exit your web browser

Part 4 – UTORmail’s Webmail
UTORmail is an e-mail service that runs over the internet. You can link to your utoronto email
account through the U of T Portal but if you only need to access email and prefer to skip the main
portal page you have the option to:

Go to the main Webmail page at https://webmail.utoronto.ca
Enter your UTORid and password, then click “Log in”
From here you can receive and send messages from your utoronto email account
To exit Webmail you will need to:
i. Log out
ii. Completely exit your web browser
