Year 2013 Russian affiliate of a leading Tobacco Manufacturer Project description: Analysis and reengineering of commercial back-office processes, devising a new operating model to reduce the overall running costs of the commercial organization by over 20%. Results: The project identified and piloted a new operating model for both trade marketing and field force operations, achieving the 20% costs savings. The pilot of the new operating model highlighted significant further saving potential in the commercial planning area, above the 20% that was achieved through back office processes reengineering. Year 2012/2013 Leading Tobacco Manufacturer Project description: Design of a new Corporate reporting capability to support management execution of the Group working capital optimization strategy in terms of stock levels and production planning. Results: The new reporting model gave top management clear and timely visibility on stock levels. Coupled with supply chain optimization initiatives, the overall effect has been a total yearly cost saving on net invested capital of approximately 1 billion US$, which was previously tied up on inventory of finished, semi-finished goods and raw materials.
