AXP Audit Community (AAC)

The last session of AAC was conducted on 8 March 2013 titled "Wrapping up" the audit! As suggested by the title, the discussion
was built around audit completion, subsequent events and audit opinion.
The main key considerations on the evaluation of evidence obtained during the audit process were highlighted. Audit procedures related to subsequent events and key areas to consider when forming audit report were also discussed.
The group and open discussions are a good and innovative way to share knowledge and experiences from different audit firms.
One participant commented that it is good to have AXP audit community course so as to refresh or update on the audit procedures.
Some shared that they have started to improve the documentation of audit programs in their firm.
We shall take note of the suggestions for improvement from the participants and to strengthen the quality of AAC. Our aim is to
provide value courses and to ensure it meet the needs of AXP clients.

AUDIT EXPRESS WORKSHOP
Tunku Abdul Rahman College (TARC)
Audit Express was embedded into the TARC syllabus in
2010. Since then, it has been used by TARC lectures to
broaden the scope of the courses offered to TARC
students. With a hands-on interactive learning experience
and exposure to practical auditing knowledge, it gives
students a far better understanding of how to relate
theory to practice. This is the key point that employers are
looking for. Knowledgeable, practical and inquisitive team
members who demonstrate the professional abilities
necessary to conduct a successful audit.
The lecturer in charge of the Advanced Diploma in
Commerce (Financial Accounting), Ms Ng Lay Choo has
adopted a fresh approach in using of Audit Express [AE] as
part of her teaching tools. Annual reports of listed companies from Bursa Malaysia are being used for course
assignment purposes based on our AE programme .
Together, they enhance the students’ learning experience
in auditing. Ms. Ng describes this as FUN AND REAL!

‘Teaching auditing without AXP is like strumming a guitar
without the strings, it become 'code-less'. The challenge of
trying to make students who have never worked in auditing firm to appreciate auditing is like sharing the theory of
relativity.
The certification catapults the learning curve as there were
numerous audit documents with the structured process in
AXP. By designing the coursework around the system it
close the gap and prepare the students for their intern. I
believe a proper designed coursework around AXP shall
make learning and teaching auditing fun and real.’
