Boeing Commercial Airplanes Supplier Management is part of Supply Chain
Management and Operations and includes Supplier Management, Fabrication, Propulsion
Systems and Manufacturing and Quality. Supplier Management is committed to being the
leader in the development and continuous improvement of an extended supply chain that
creates a sustainable competitive advantage for Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
Supplier Management employs over 3000 people under the leadership of Vice
President and General Manager Kent Fisher. Supplier Management works with a global supply
chain that includes more than 1,400 production suppliers in over 30 countries. Annual
expenditures to the production supply chain are $35 billion.
Supplier Management works with Boeing Commercial Airplanes Airplane Programs to
drive lean initiatives, productivity and execution throughout the entire global supply chain. The
ultimate goal is to deliver market-leading value, defined by product quality and reliability,
innovative technology and reduced cost of ownership, to Boeing’s customers. At the same
time Supplier Management is committed to being the preferred customer for suppliers. This
combination of value and preference supports the Boeing Commercial Airplanes goal of
market leadership in this challenging market environment.
The Supplier Management function is organized by area of responsibility:

Supply Chain Management provides oversight to procurement categories, specifically
Structures/Aircraft Materials, Systems, Interiors and Seats.

Functional Excellence ensures that Boeing has world-class processes and people in
areas that include: Contracts, Quality and Operations.
•
Customer Facing Business Unit/Airplane Programs manages all of the supply chain
requirements of the programs, new airplane program development and Commercial
Aviation Services (CAS).
Supplier Management works across Boeing to share resources, manage supplier
relationships, and minimize risks in the supply chain. With leadership, processes and tools
sponsored by the Engineering, Operations & Technology organization, employees across
Boeing are making it easier for Boeing and its suppliers to do business with each other.
