Click on any of these links to go to the login page Enter your D# and birthday to access the database. Click on Medline & CINAHL link Click in the selection box next to CINAHL Plus and then click on the Continue button OR Just click on CINAHL Plus with Full Text link Logging into My EBSCOhost: Setting up a Folder Make sure to Sign In! If you have an existing account, Login! If you are a first time user, Click on the I’m a new user link to create an account. Fill in all of the spaces. This is all the information needed then press submit Creating an account allows searches and results to be saved for later use, sharing folders with others, setting up preferences for search results display and saving information for reference citations. Click on Continue to begin your search!! How to search topics using CINAHL – Basic Search When using 2 words in a basic search, the search is completed as a phrase. This search will only return results with both words in this order. This search will not return results for pulmonary cancer or bronchial cancer. See the Journal Searching – Using CINAHL on the library home page for more detailed search instructions and strategies After entering the search terms, click on Search. To view the article, click on PDF Full Text or HTML Full Text Default sort is by Relevance. Change sort to Date for most recent items listed first. Saving into your Folder Basic searches can return many results. Sorting by date and adding terms from the Subject headings can reduce the number of results Quickly preview the results and use Add to Folder link to put in your folder only the best articles that match your search. Link & folder icon change once items are added to the folder. Column at the right lists the titles in the folder. Click on the Folder to view folder contents for further review or to request items. From the folder view, you can print, email or save the items. How to request items in Folder To print or view items that are available full text, click on the PDF link and print from the Adobe Reader Items not available full text can be requested from the St. Louis library by clicking on the Request this item through interlibrary loan link d Enter in all the requested information about yourself. The database will fill in the information about the article. Unless you live in the St. Louis area, request email delivery. Don’t forget to scroll to the bottom of the form and click the submit button Your item has been requested. Library attempts to deliver all requests within one week. Library reserves the right to refuse requests if items cannot be delivered in a timely manner or acquisition may violate copyright laws. How to use the Citation Format Click on the article title to view additional information Clicking on the colorized paper icon will display different Citation formats Here are different Citation Formats.
