“ROMEO AND JULIET” CHARACTERIZATION ASSESSMENT DUE ON OR BY: Fri. Sept. 17th Choose 10 characters from the following list. 1. Draw or create a symbol representing that character and tell how it relates to something that happened in the play. 2. Choose one of their most significant quotes—write the quote and tell what it means. 3. Compile in the form of a booklet or on a poster. (Be creative! Make it look great!) (You may do more than 10 characters for 2 bonus points each.) The following are some characters you may choose from: Romeo Montague Lady Montague Juliet Capulet Lady Capulet Paris Nurse Peter Mercutio Benvolio Tybalt Prince Friar Sampson Gregory Grading: Each character will be worth 25 points (5 pts. for naming the character, 5 pts. for the symbol, 5 pts. for explaining how it relates to the play, 5 pts. for the quote, and 5 pts. for interpreting the quote). The final 50 points will be based upon originality and creativity. There is no reason why everyone should have the exact same symbol explanations and quote interpretations. Be sure to thoroughly analyze each character on your own. (10 points will be deducted each time I find an exact duplication of another student’s character symbol explanation and/or quote interpretation.)
