Your first essay will be a 750 word typed essay that examines how your birth order has influenced your personality. To prepare yourself for this assignment, you must first take the VARK, True Colors, and Keirsey Personality Indicator.
The VARK and Keirsey Personality Indicator you will take online. The True Colors indicator I will administer in class. In addition, you must read the hand out on birth order. Using these sources, construct a thesis asserting the affect your birth order has had (or didn't have) on your personality. Use personal examples to support your theory of the influence or lack of influence.
This paper will rely strongly on establishing cause and effect connections. Think in these terms as you construct your paper. A possible organizational structure might be to describe your personality traits (effects), from most dominant to least dominant, and then connect these traits to characteristics attributed to your birth order place (causes). Or you may use the reverse organizational structure and first describe the characteristics of your birth order place, and then describe how your personality has been influenced by these characteristics.
Format
Use MLA format. An example can be found on pages 710-717 of the Bedford book.
Include parenthetical notes when referring to sources you have read and a “Works
Cited” page. Format for these entries will be reviewed in class.
