My name is Alina Páez Handley and I am originally from Lima, Perú. My husband is a manager of information technology at a marketing company in Franklin and he’s also a skilled musician and a recording engineer. My father was a Journalist, professor and a retired judge. My mother is a former director of the curriculum and instruction department at the elementary level and a retired principal. She now lives in Madrid, Spain. Both of my parents are some of the best examples of dedication and love for their professions. I received most of my education in Lima, Perú and attended an elementary school that believed in the English Immersion Program. I’d have classes in Spanish in the mornings and English classes in the afternoon. At age 13, I attended a half boarding middle school in Toledo, Spain. This was my first time traveling overseas discovering my passion for traveling. I graduated with certification from the Pontific Catholic University in Lima, Perú and taught there for several years. Then, I attended Belmont University for four more years and obtained my TN certification to teach 1-8th grades and a Master degree in Early Childhood. Traveling is one of my hobbies. I have traveled to at least 16 countries in four continents. I like singing in the church choir, working out at the YMCA, walking my two dogs and sometimes dancing and running. But my favorite hobby is to search for creative ideas that can be applied in my classroom. I teach because I discovered that most of my talents are better utilized in this career. I enjoy when I see a group of children developing their social, moral and academic skills as a whole to become better individuals and better learners. I have a mission which is to help students develop wonderful childhood memories that will motivate them to become lifelong learners. Birthdate: September 5th Favorite thing about Glendale: Students
