Their Values – Our Values Project
Consider the values the World State conditions its members to
believe in. Values repeated in the form of hypnopaedic slogans that
society is intended to accept without thought or reflection.
Advertisements in the media are presented in similar ways. Your
job is to look for values presented in our media that seem similar to
the values in the World State. Collect eight examples that seem
similar and create a multi-media presentation. You can use
programs like PowerPoint, iMovie, or Prezi to make your
presentation. Identify the values you see as similar to the World
State as part of your presentation. Along with your images, include
slides or pictures that explain the values and their connection to the
World State. Try to cover as many different values as you can.
You may work in groups of up to four people. Each person in the
group will be required to participate in the presentation of your
project to the class.
