Year Round School
Public education in Michigan should not resort to year round school.
Year round schooling in Michigan would not be a good idea because it will
cause more stress on students and teachers (drmattlynch.com.) Year round
school doesn’t necessarily improve children’s academic performance
(Voices.yahoo.com.) It is also much more expensive to run a year round
school because of the high utility costs (ehow.com.) And the teachers will
have less time with their kids because of the longer days and school years
(Certifictionmap.com.) Also 90% of families are more used to traditional
school (Drmattlynch.com.) And as a sixth grade student I would have less
time for vacation and camps. And this would be bad for camps because they
may have to shut down because they would not be making a lot of money
anymore (Voices.yahoo.com.) Finally, young children who have disabilities
or a tough time paying attention would not get as much out of a longer
school day and year. Or the kids get bad behavioral issues (ehow.com.) In
conclusion year round school is not a good idea for many reasons and public
education in Michigan should not resort to year round school.
