The following information must be included in your project. All information must be organized within the specified sections as outlined below. Sexually Transmitted Infections Provide the following information for each STI listed below: o Pubic Lice o Syphilis o Herpes o Human Papillomavirus o Chlamydia o Hepatitis B o Gonorrhea o HIV/AIDS Explain process of transmission Describe the pathogen’s effect on the body List symptoms associated with infection List & explain the current treatments for infection Provide current national statistics for the infection High Risk Behaviors List & explain behaviors that put individuals at a higher risk for acquiring an STI o Provide at least 6 behaviors Abstinence Provide a definition of abstinence Explain what abstinence means to you List the benefits of choosing abstinence STI: Effect on Family, Community, & Society List & explain how STIs affect: o Family Provide at least 3 effects o Community Provide at least 2 effects o Society Provide at least 1 effect Additional Effects on Family, Community, & Society for HIV/AIDS List & explain how HIV/AIDS affects: o Family Provide at least 3 effects o Community Provide at least 2 effects o Society Provide at least 1 effect Project Format & Citations Provide citations for researched information o Use MLA format o Must be at least 12 point font o Provide at least 5 citations o 3 or more different resources must be used Examples: internet, books, journals, magazines, newspapers Best place to find information is school library research database September 30, 2008
