Projects can include a pamphlet, three-fold chart, brochure, power point, or research paper. The
following information must be included in your project. All information must be organized within the
specified sections as outlined below.
Sexually Transmitted Infections
 Provide the following information for each STI listed below:
o Pubic Lice
o Syphilis
o Herpes
o Human Papillomavirus
o Chlamydia
o Hepatitis B
o Gonorrhea
o HIV/AIDS
 Explain process of transmission
 Describe the pathogen’s effect on the body
 List symptoms associated with infection
 List & explain the current treatments for infection
 Provide current national statistics for the infection
High Risk Behaviors
 List & explain behaviors that put individuals at a higher risk for acquiring an STI
o Provide at least 6 behaviors
Abstinence
 Provide a definition of abstinence
 Explain what abstinence means to you
 List the benefits of choosing abstinence
STI: Effect on Family, Community, & Society
 List & explain how STIs affect:
o Family
 Provide at least 3 effects
o Community
 Provide at least 2 effects
o Society
 Provide at least 1 effect
