Theories of Personality “The Breakfast Club” Analysis Project Psychology AP What is personality? How do our personalities develop? How do our personalities explain our thought processes and behaviors? In our next chapter, we will be discussing these concepts as well as the various personality theories known in psychology. DIRECTIONS: Choose one character from the movie “The Breakfast Club”. You will observe their personality and behavior as we view the movie in class. Use the chart provided to help organize your thoughts. You will analyze ONE character of your choosing based on ONE personality theory that we will be discussing in class – psychoanalytic, humanistic, behaviorism, sociallearning, trait, etc. You will need to do more formal research into the personality theory depending on which you choose as your textbook has limited information. Use credible resources and cite any information that you use. You must have a COMPLETE bibliography page/slide. DO NOT just list the links from your sources. This will be a presentation completed with ONE other person. Utilize any Web 2.0 website to complete this project (Prezi, Sliderocket, etc.) PowerPoint is not permitted for this project. Fully describe your individual’s life and critically analyze him/her based on a personality theory. In addition, apply the information learned in the development chapters to your character (Erikson, Kolhberg, and Marcia). Your presentation should be descriptive, clear, and comprehensive (proofread your work BEFORE you hand it in). Review the rubric on the back of this paper. The link to your project MUST be e-mailed to me. This will count as a MAJOR ASSESSMENT grade.
