“And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of
the netherworld shall not prevail against it.” Matthew 16:18
Since we are all called to share in this “Bread of Life”, anyone is welcome to attend Mass at a
Roman Catholic Church, and if you so choose, take steps towards becoming a Catholic, even if
you are not a Christian.
Church attendance is both obligatory and beneficial; public worship allows everyone to come
together to strengthen our faith and community. It helps us to keep the commandment
“Remember to keep holy the Sabbath day.” It helps you to lead a Christ-centred life. When this
happens, you may notice changes in your life. Many have experienced an unbelievable shifting
of life circumstances, while others have found the strength and grace to move forward in spite of

In the Roman Catholic Church, we have what are called sacraments. There are seven of which

It may seem a bit overwhelming at first, but don’t be discouraged. Keep in mind this bible verse
which epitomizes truth and love: “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that
everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.” John 3:16
It is also important to Pray. We do this by praising God and asking him for guidance in all we do.
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to
you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks,
the door will be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8
But Nathanael said to him, “Can anything good come from
Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.” John 1:46
