The Opportunity: HSSE Superintendent – RQ118
Location: Grande Prairie
Reporting to the Manager, Health and Safety, the HSSE Superintendent is responsible for providing support to
Operations, Facilities, Construction, Well servicing Drilling and Completions, teams to meet their responsibilities in
regard to implementation of TAQA North HSSE Management Standards. This individual will champion HSSE
Management system and play an active role in the development of new policies, practices and formulation of other
tactical plans to achieve corporate HSSE goals.The successful candidate will ensure incident investigations are
conducted and root cause analysis undertaken to eliminate future incidents as well ensuring corrective action is
initiated and carried out.
As part of this challenging role you will specifically be responsible for:

Ensure the elements of TAQA North’s HSSE Management System are communicated and practiced in the field

Oversee systems to ensure training is provided to appropriate personnel in a timely fashion

Ensure regular and frequent HSSE communication is established and maintained within field operations as well
as across the organization

Support TAQA North Senior Management in the HSSE roles.

Liaise with the HSSE Safety Team to capture and share best practices as well as develop best practices and
Standards

Interface with regulatory agencies to ensure a strong and cooperative relationship is maintained

Liaise with contractors to ensure their HSSE management systems meet TAQA North standards are fully
developed and practiced
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Essential:

Minimum Grade 12 education

Completion of a Safety Management Certificate or Degree

+10 years of progressive HSSE experience

Legally authorized to work in Canada and USA on a regular full-time basis without restrictions

Knowledge of HSSE management systems

Auditing experience or background in COR and/or ISO.

Strong understanding of drilling, completions and well work over operations

Good verbal and written communication skills with all levels of Management and field

Strong organizational and time management skills

Familiar with regulatory agency requirements in areas of TAQA North operations, including Alberta, British
Columbia, Saskatchewan and USA
Preferred:

CRSP designation

Management or Technical/College Degree or Diploma in related field

Familiar with regulatory agency requirements in areas of TAQA North operations including BC, Alberta,
Saskatchewan, Ontario and USA
