Passive Voice Practice 2
Practice with Indirect/Direct Objects
Directions:
First, mark the subject (s), verb (v), direct object (do), and indirect object (io) in the
active sentences you see on this paper. Also, write what tense they are. Notice: not all
sentences will have all 4 parts. Some may have only one object, and some may have
none because the verbs are intransitive.
Next, rewrite the active sentences to make them passive. If a sentence has both direct
and indirect objects, write two passive sentences; write one using the old direct object as
the new subject, and then write another one using the old indirect object as the new
subject. Remember, not all sentences will have two objects (and some might have
none), so you might not be able to make two new sentences.
