Melton Mowbray vendors Messrs TG and DM Watchorn Ltd sold meated cows to £1042.48,
plainer sorts 112-118p and very plain Holsteins 96-106p.
Plenty of meat in the OTMS clean but not much top end quality.

Steers - 113 averaged 195.05p
A decent entry on offer today and again dearer on the week.
Today plenty of black and whites which were well sold but did nothing to enhance the
averages.
Top steer today was sold by Besthorpe Cattle who sold Blues to 245.5p - £1291.33,
Frank Page sold Blues to 242.5p - £1442.88 and 232.5p - £1371.75.
John White, Banbury sold a wonderful load of Limousin steers to 239.5p - £1726.80 with
others at 234.5p - £1650.88, 230.5p - £1678.04 and 230.5p - £1608.89.
Today E grades 229p plus with U+ grades 222-228p and –U grades 214-221p with R grades
208-213p and O+’s 200-206p.
Meated Holsteins 154-164p with plainer sorts 142-150p and horrors 122-130p.
Again a very encouraging result and going the right direction, albeit at a slower pace than
we would all like!!
