North West Calf Championship 2015
Confined to members of North West Limousin club which covers counties Galway,
Roscommon, Mayo, and Sligo. Calves must be exhibitor bred and the exhibitor must
have a herd number in the club area.
A) Best pedigree registered Limousin bull born after 1/9/2014
B) Best pedigree registered Limousin heifer born after 1/9/2014
The entries will be divided into three equal male sections and three female sections on
the day based on their age. If there are 18 entries in the male section the oldest six will
be in section 1 and so on. If there is an uneven number for dividing the extra calf is in
the older class subject to calves with the same date of birth will be in the same section.
Prize money will be €75, €50 and €25 per section. The owner of the champion calf will
receive the Michael Dale Memorial Cup. Michael was a great Limousin supporter and
worked tirelessly for the breed before his untimely death in 2010.
C) Best Limousin sired commercial bull calf under 400kg on the day of the show
D) Best Limousin sired commercial heifer calf under 400kg on the day of the show
Classes C and D may be amalgamated if there are insufficient entries. DNA may be
requested from prize winners to verify sire is Limousin.
