Literacy
High level of written, spoken and
comprehension skills are a crucial part of this

role. The ability to express complex ideas in
written form is a basic part of administration
and management. Written skills are essential
for the preparation of reports, contracts,
discussion papers, submissions, research
proposals, and funding applications.
Ability to raise funds
Able to write effective funding applications
in order to raise ongoing funds, therefore
enabling the Manawatu Multicultural
Council reach its aims and objectives.
Proven expertise in preparing and
managing budgets. Having a thorough
understanding of financials.
Knowledge of the Community
Knowledge and experience of working with
ethnic communities, migrants and refugees
and newcomers. Knowledge
of specific
cultural needs, community relationships and
service provision.
Computer Ability
Proficient in using office software such
as MS Word and Excel including
PowerPoint, and practical ability to
manage website and face book is a pre
requisite

Ability to build positive relationships and
strong profile within the community, with
local and National Governments, Iwi
NGOs, Refugee and Migrant community.
