NSPIRATIONAL DAY for Ministers of the Word and
Holy Communion in Scarborough on Saturday 12th
September for a day of spiritual nourishment. A list is in the
porch and if you require transport by coach, please give £10
deposit to Paul Bowen, which will be refunded to you in full
on the day. However, if you decide not to go there will be no
refund. In recent years we have had many who put their
names down, then at the last minute don’t go. Transport,
food and speakers have been arranged. I hope you
understand the reason why I am doing this and I am more
than happy to pay this fee. Many thanks.

ONGRATULATIONS to Fr. James who celebrates his
2nd anniversary as a priest on 20th July. Fr. James will

RDINATION of Phil Cunnah to the priesthood here at
St. Mary’s Cathedral next Saturday July 25th at 12
Midday. He has been appointed in September to be the new
assistant priest here in the cathedral. All are invited to the
ordination and I know you will keep Phil in your prayers.
O
SMOTHERLEY PARISH From 26th July, Sunday
morning Mass will be looked after by Canon Jerry
Twomey until the end of September. Also, owing to the cover
that we are giving to Redcar and other churches, Fr. James
Blenkinsopp has kindly agreed to celebrate midweek Mass
at Osmotherley village. There has been great ecumenical
work within the community of Osmotherley, and the coffee
and soup lunches have raised over £3000 for various
charities over the past year. Well done to the parishioners
who have helped support such good causes.
