Vacancy for position of Director of Operations

Christ Church Cathedral is an important place of worship, music and heritage in the heart of Dublin. The cathedral has been working through a significant period of change and development in all aspects of its activity. We are seeking a Director of

Operations who will play a pivotal role in moving the cathedral forward at both national and international level. This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the life and future of such an historical site.

As a senior member of the staff the Director of Operations will be responsible for the day to day operational activity of the cathedral. The post holder will be responsible for expanding the visitor base in both the international and domestic markets.

Experience in business development and marketing and event management, combined with excellent IT and web management skills, are requirements for the position. The individual will have strong leadership, planning and organisational skills and the ability to think and act strategically. A high standard of communication and presentation skills, good problem solving skills and a customer service approach are all key requirements.

The position will require the individual to be dynamic, a quick thinker, excellent at networking; have an entrepreneurial approach to opportunities and developments and have strong well honed interpersonal skills. Knowledge of the tourism sector and some management experience are required for this position. An ability to effectively adjust to changes in work tasks and the work environment is important.
