Pilot Peer Advocate Program
PEER ADVOCATES COACHES (P.A.C.)
2012-2013 Application
The C2C Peer Advocates Coaches (P.A.C.) are dedicated to helping students who are
enrolled in the College Survival Skills 100 classes become effective and engaged
members of the BBCC community. The peer advocates will use face-to face contacts,
classroom visits, and social media – FACEBOOK, as a means to develop a connection
with their assigned students. The P.A.C. Leaders will provide students with
information, encouragement and guidance on being successful here at BBCC.
Qualifications of a Peer Advocate:
 An interest in helping other students
 Ability to serve for the duration of TWO continuous quarters

 In good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 2.5
 Strong interpersonal skills
 Have a positive, energetic attitude
 Knowledgeable about BBCC resources and services
 Be a member of at least one program or club on campus/successful completion
of CSS 100 class
Responsibilities of a Peer Advocate:
 Enroll in the Mentoring course – EDU 132
 Provide peer advocacy to the students enrolled in your assigned CSS class
 Maintain strong contact with the assigned CSS instructor and BBCC Mentor
Team member
 Have weekly contact with the C2C Program Director and Manager
 Attend a half-day orientation/planning session (TBA)
 Attend all planned activities as scheduled
Benefits of being a Peer Advocate:
 Earn academic credit
 $100 book stipend at the end of the quarter that you serve as a P.A.C for the
designated CSS class
 $15.00 dollars added to your BBCC printing account for the quarter that you
serve as P.A.C
 Laptop Checkout for the quarter
 BBCC Student Planner
 P.A.C manual/notebook
 Staff Mentors
