Morocco (country code +212) Communication of 12.VII.2006: The Agence Nationale de Réglementation des Télécommunications (ANRT ), Rabat, announces that on Friday 24 March 2006, at 2300 hours UTC, the number of numbering zones for fixed telephony will be reduced from four to two. The national territory will be divided into two numbering zones, in the following manner: The “South” zone will be made up of those zones that fall under the “02” and “04” area codes. In the future, they will both be covered by the single area code “02”. The “North” zone will be made up of those zones that fall under the “03” and “05” area codes. In the future, they will both be covered by the single area code “03”. Therefore, in order to place a call to a party in these zones, area code “02” should be used instead of area code “04”, and area code “03” instead of area code “05”.
