District Enviroment Action Plan Meeting Held at Nyando District Headquarters at
Awasi on 16/05/07
The meeting was convened by the District Commissioner Nyando District. WKIEMP and
Icraf were invited to the meeting .Obaga represented Wkiemp while Icraf was
represented by Luka and Mango.
Also invited were all Groups working in the Katuk- Odeyo area and all Heads of
Government Departments in the District.
The Distict Commissioner was concerned with the need to have all groups working in
Katuk Odeyo registered in his office so that their activities could be effectively
monitored. He proposed that a stake holder co ordinating Committee be formed whose
task will be to monitor the activities of all groups working in Nyando district and report
to his office. A committee was then formed and included the following:

DEO Nyando(District Environmental Officer)
DAO Nyando(District Agricultural Officer)
District Water officer
District Forester
District Public Health Officer
