Hassan Allam Construction enters the roads and bridges construction sector for the first time in the company’s eighty-year history Date: 23rd November, 2014 Hassan Allam Construction (HAC) has launched a brand new road and bridges division to participate in the Egyptian Government’s new national roads program. This national program aims to construct 3,500 km of critical roads and bridges in Egypt, with a total budget exceeding LE 23 billion, over the coming two years. The planned project is equal to 10% of the country’s existing roads and bridges infrastructure established during the 1920s. Upon the Government’s request, Hassan Allam Construction has entered into this competitive business segment with a dedicated construction division fully supported by a large state-ofthe-art fleet of equipment. The new roads and bridges division will offer seamless construction services to the government, participating in national efforts to turn around Egypt’s ailing economy by delivering critical national roads and bridges infrastructure to underpin much needed economic growth. For HAC, this new business division is a natural step in the company’s eighty-year history of serving governments around the region with critical national construction projects. In its first month of operations, the new division has secured several key awards: Cairo-Dabaa (Alamein) Highway On behalf of the Egyptian Army Corps of Engineers, Hassan Allam Construction is executing the final 70 km of the 230 km Cairo-Dabaa (Alamein) Highway. This fast-track project is due to be delivered in one year, with the Egyptian Armed Forces relying on Egypt's top tier contractors to support the country in achieving this ambitious milestone. Significantly, this project will reduce the distance from Cairo to Alexandria's North Coast to two hours, and will serve as a new artery to Egypt's Northern Coast. HAC has invested in a large fleet equipment essential for a project of this nature and scheduling constraints. Cairo-Suez Road Extension Hassan Allam Construction was awarded the construction and development of the 72 kilometers’ extension of the Cairo – Suez Road. The project was awarded by the General Authority for Roads, Bridges and Land Transport and the scope of work includes the construction of 3 lanes of asphalt and 2 lanes of concrete in each direction. Through its Joint Venture Partnership with Cemex Concrete Pavements, HAC will be providing concrete pavements for the 72 kilometer extension. Hassan Allam Construction and CEMEX launched a joint venture agreement in 2012 for the construction of concrete pavements in Egypt and the MENA Region.
