Name:__________________ Sculpture Book Report This book report will have three parts: 1. A written book report 2. Sculpture Creation 3. Oral Presentation 1. Sculpture - Create a sculpture of an important character from your novel. Use any combination of soap, wood, clay, sticks, wire, stones, Lego, popsicle sticks, tooth picks, pipe cleaners, tin cans, play dough, paper mâché, beads, marbles, moon sand, Styrofoam, sticky tack, cloth, yarn, string, old toy pieces, cardboard, or any other object. Be creative! Also attach a name tag that includes title of book, name of character, and the name of the artist. 2. Written Book Report Part 1: Background Information The first few paragraphs of your written book report should include: - the title of the book - author of the book - main characters — names, relationships, etc. - setting of the book — where and what time of year This information should be written in a well organized paragraph. Part 2: Summary The summary should be composed of a brief explanation of the plot, be sure to include the beginning, middle, and end of the book. This should include the exposition, conflict, rising action, climax, and resolution etc. Remember to include paragraphs in your writing. Only include important information. Part 3: Sculpture Explanation Write some well organized paragraphs explaining the sculpture you have created. Be sure to include: a. Who is the character you have sculpted? b. What steps did you take sculpting your character and how much time you spent? c. Why did you choose this character? d. Describe the character in detail e. How does this character fit into the book?
