Beatrice Hoffman is offering sculpture courses over the summer holidays, mornings only (10.00 - 1.00), for four separate weeks. She is a sculptor and art therapist, with over twenty years of teaching experience; in the recent past , she has been employed by both the the Kings High School in Warwick, and the Billing Brook Special School in Northampton to teach ceramic sculpture. She runs the classes in her studio in the village of Garford, OX13 5PF: http://www.beatricehoffman.co.uk/album/studio-setting?p=1 The topics are varied - animals, heads, human figure, cars, abstract...many sculpting skills are taught informally while trying to create the sculpture of your choice. She prefers children to attend a whole weeks course, as the benefit of tuition is far greater - the shortest course lasts for two sessions, one to start a sculpture with wet clay, and another to finish carving it when it is drier. The number of students varies between 5 and 8 - adults are welcome too to join.
