Terms of Reference Wildlife Veterinarian, WWF - Pakistan Reporting to Duty Station Employment Contract Work Week Work Hours : : : : : Director Biodiversity, WWF - Pakistan WWF –P, Kalabagh Office [Ayubia National Park, KP] Short-term Contract [six months] 5 days [Monday to Friday] / 40 hrs per week 0830 hrs to 1715 hrs Duties and Responsibilities Attend to the wildlife species emergency in the Ayubia National Park area. Training the relevant staff and community representatives in basic husbandry, care, diseases/vaccination of livestock and handling veterinary emergencies. Available to dart leopards and monitor vital signs during anesthesia to help in scientific research. Conduct necropsies if required Take biological samples for research. Available to help the KP Wildlife Department in the care of animals at the Lalazar Wildlife Park. Set up a basic veterinary unit in Kalabagh. Selection Criteria Education, Experience & Working Knowledge DVM with specialization in veterinary surgery/anesthesia is preferred. At least one year work experience, particularly with the cat species, any experience with the wildlife species will be extremely valuable. Updated knowledge of safe tranquilizers and antidotes used in the cat family is essential. Skills & Attributes Physical fitness is a must. The candidate must be able to work well in low temperatures.
