People credited with this unit standard are able to: identify
chemicals in a meat processing plant; identify on-site personnel
safety systems in a meat processing plant; and describe the
effects of hazardous chemicals in the meat processing industry
on humans.
This is an entry level unit standard for people new to the meat
processing industry who are required to have an understanding
of chemical handling.

Personnel safety systems are described in terms of plant use.
