We will be ordering team t-shirts for swimmers, extra shirts may be purchased. Team Arkansas swim caps are
mandatory for all competing swimmers. Swimmers like to trade caps with other club swimmers on the last day
so you may want to purchase extra caps. It is suggested to purchase at least two caps for competition. We
suggest black suits for team suit.

Junior Olympic Event & Entry Registration: All entries must be completed online by Sunday July 13th 2014. (It is the
responsibility of the swimmers’ club coach or parent to enter the swimmer in the Junior Olympic meet.) TO REGISTER

for online registration (Pick a sport tab ~ Swimming, ONLINE REGISTRATION, Entry fee is $45 per athlete. Visa,
MasterCard, American Express, and Discover are accepted.) AAU TEAM CODE FOR TEAM ARKANSAS is WW6WY3
You will also need individual AAU membership ID number. All times must be converted to Long Course Meters. After
registering online you should receive an email confirming your entry and acceptance of payment.
Entry Limits; Swimmers may ONLY swim in 3 individual events per day for up to 9 individual events for the meet. Relays will be
put together by the coaching staff and posted Thursday morning at the pool. All swimmers should be prepared to swim in a
relay.
Location/Pool: Birdland Pool, 300 Holcomb Ave Des Moines, IA 50313.
Age Divisions: Girls & Boys: 8 & Under, 10 & Under, 11-12, 13-14, 15-18; Athlete’s Age on the first day of Competition (July
30th 2014) shall determine the division of the competitor. The 8 & Under division is a recognized age group in the AAU
Junior Olympic Games. The 8 & under and 9-10 divisions are offered for the 50M events and 200M free relays. The heats
for these age groups may be combined but will be awarded separately. Participants that are 8& Under are also welcome to
swim in the 10& Under events IF he/she meets the qualifying standard for that event.
Awards: Individual: AAU Junior Olympic Games medals will be awarded to the top eight (8) finishers in each individual age group
event. Ribbons will be awarded to athletes placing 9th – 16th.
Club Relays: AAU Junior Olympic Games medals will be awarded to every team member on each of the top 8 places in age
group (CLUB RELAY events only). Ribbons will be awarded to each CLUB RELAY team member placing 9 th – 16th.
Lodging & Travel: It is the responsibility of the athlete’s family for transportation and reservations. Team Arkansas will be staying at
Des Moines Marriott Downtown (It is not mandatory for swimmers and family to stay at the same hotel.) Our sub block for
Team Arkansas can be found here: https://www.mmx2reservations.com/desmonines/gc/820/TeamArkans. Follow each step
to book rooms at the Des Moines Marriott Downtown. A $5 per room per night service fee will be charged at the time of
booking to hold reservations. This service fee will be deducted from your total bill at the time of check out. Keep in mind the
