VILLAGE THEATRE KIDSTAGE ANNOUNCES
HOLIDAY BREAK CAMPS AND WORKSHOPS IN EVERETT
Register Today and Get a Half-Price Ticket to Village Theatre’s production of
Disney’s Beauty and the Beast
EVERETT, WA –Village Theatre KIDSTAGE is proud to announce its line-up of holiday
break camps and workshops for students’ grades 3-12. The theatre is offering three-day dance
intensive camps, as well as three-day comic combat camps. Both are offered for grades 3-7 and
8-12. KIDSTAGE will also offer a one-day audition master class and coaching workshop for
grades 4-8 and a two-day workshop for grades 8-12. These camps begin as early as December
22, 2008. Camps and workshops range from $80-$125 and parents can receive a 10 percent
discount when registering more than one student from the same family or when registering for
more than one class. One discount per family. Each registered student will also receive one halfprice single ticket to any Village Theatre Mainstage production. Registration forms are available

EVERETT KIDSTAGE Holiday Camps and Workshops
at the Everett Performing Arts Center, 2710 Wetmore Avenue, Everett, WA
Ensemble Dance Intensive (Grades 3-7)
Monday-Wednesday 10:00 AM –12:30 PM, December 29–31, 2008
Tuition: $125*
Students will jump-start their dance fundamentals with this fun and challenging
introduction to theatre dance. Beginning each day with a vigorous warm-up, students will
expand their knowledge of theatre dance fundamentals and exploratory movement as they
develop core strength, stamina, and flexibility.
*Combine with Comic Combat and the total for both classes is $200.
Teen Dance Intensive (Grades 8-12)
Monday-Wednesday 1:00 PM—3:30 PM, December 29-31, 2008
Tuition: $125*
Students will jump-start their dance fundamentals with this intense and energizing
introduction to theatre dance. Each day will feature a vigorous warm-up focusing on core
strength and flexibility, need-to-know theatre dance steps, fundamentals of turns and
leaps, and across-the-floor exercises. Students will learn dance combinations and explore
acting through dance, specificity of movement, dancing with strength, and selling a dance
number, and then choreographic combinations.
*Combine with Comic Combat—Slapstick Stage Techniques or Audition Master Class
and Coaching and the total for both classes is $200.

Comic Combat (Grades 3-7)
Monday-Wednesday 1:00–3:30 PM, December 29-31, 2008
Tuition: $125*
This camp includes a thrilling (and safe!), disciplined exploration of the illusions of
falling, tripping, slapping, as well as the grace and precision of open hand stage combat.
Students will learn fun and funny techniques for making stage pain, painless.
*Combine with Ensemble Dance Intensive and the total for both classes is $200.
Comic Combat—Slapstick Stage Techniques (Grades 8-12)
Monday-Wednesday 10:00 AM-12:30 PM, December 29-31, 2008
Tuition: $125*
This camp includes a thrilling (and safe!), disciplined exploration of the illusions of

This camp is a four-hour intensive for those that are new to auditioning or just need help
with monologue and song selection. Students will gain the techniques to choose and
prepare a successful monologue and song and learn tricks to make their audition smooth,
low-stress, and unforgettable.

Audition Masterclass and Coaching (Grades 8-12)
Monday 4:00–8:00 PM, December 22, 2008 and Friday 4:00–8:00 PM, January 2, 2009
Tuition: $125*
This two-part auditioning intensive is perfect for both the new and experienced
performer. Students work with professional artists and directors to choose material that
suits them best, and then are coached in how to improve their vocal selections and
monologues, develop cold reading skills, and make their very best professional
impression. Building on the audition techniques covered in the Masterclass first day,
students will then have two weeks to polish their songs and monologues before receiving
individual, targeted coaching on the second workshop day.

Designed to encourage teamwork, personal integrity, self-esteem, and a life-long appreciation for live theatre,
KIDSTAGE is a year-round performing arts training program in Issaquah and Everett for young people ages 3-20.
KIDSTAGE students participate in classes, workshops and full-scale KIDSTAGE productions. All performances are by
KIDSTAGE students and classes are taught by professional theatrical instructors.
