1 Introduction

Conventional warranty procedures usually demand that the instruments must be sent in to a designated service centre. Consequently, the user has to make do without the instrument for a limited amount of time.

For this reason we offer a customer oriented solution: Even in warranty cases the dealer will be the direct link to the customer. In a warranty case the customer will get a new device and the dealer will get a refund for that device from our side, either financially or in form of the delivery of a new device.

Advantages to our dealers:

 Immediate solutions to customers problems

 Increasing customer satisfaction and binding customers to your services

 Easy, non-bureaucratic processing

Advantage to our customers:

 No time lost with the instrument being sent in and thus no loss in productivity

 Quick, non-bureaucratic solutions

 No additional costs for packaging, transportation, etc.

Defective Instruments have three possible causes of error:

 Wrongful applications

 Defects despite proper application

 Defects due to improper application

- No obvious damage to the casing

- The overall condition of the instrument is important

Warranty:

- Check purchase date on sales receipt

- If not available:

Production date + 3 months = purchase date

Fill in the coupon

These determinations are as important as the date of sale for warranty claims. Warranty is only given, if the defect occurred within the warranty period and the instrument was used as intended .

2.1.1 A PPLICATION E RRORS

Please first check whether there is a user error.

 - Are the proper batteries used and are they inserted correctly?

 - Is an error message displayed?

 - Is a spare part defective?

Some error codes displayed indicate a user error and can be corrected by simple measures.

The error codes and corrective measures are listed in the appendix and in the User Manual.

2.1.2 U SED AS I NTENDED

Intended use is simply applying the Instrument as a measuring instrument and having no obvious damage done to the casing. The general impression the instrument makes decides how it was used. The decision should be made based on experience and good judgment.

For improper use, there is no warranty . The customer must acquire a new instrument.

Warranty periods:

Laser Distance meter

Cross Line laser

24 months as of date of sale to customer

12 months as of date of sale to customer

2.1.3 F ILL IN THE C OUPON

After the evaluation has been completed, the warranty coupon has to be filled in. It is sent along with the defective instrument to the Prexiso distributor.

The warranty coupons are available at your dealership.

2.2 S PARE P ARTS

Should the spare parts listed in section 3.2 be affected by a defect, the parts are replaced against payment

 No complete instrument may be replaced .

Those spare parts have to be ordered.

2.3 R ETURN OF OLD DEVICES FOR SCRAPPING

In accordance with European directive 2002/96/EC (better known as WEEE), Prexiso AG undertakes to offer a returns service for devices sold after 13.08.2005.

Scrap devices that are covered by this directive can be returned at any time to the Prexiso AG, or to your distributor. Please note this on the warranty coupon (e.g. by writing “for scrap”) when doing so.
