EUROCONTROL EXPERIMENTAL CENTRE
The mission of the EUROCONTROL Experimental Centre (EEC), located at Brétignysur-Orge, south of Paris, is to carry out research and development in order to
improve European Air Traffic Management (ATM) and to pro-actively support the coordination of R&D in Europe. This vacancy is in the Simulation Facility Management
(SFM) Centre of Expertise. SFM provides expertise to the Core Business projects,
corresponding mainly to ATM System Engineering, System Administration and
Software System skills.
DESIRED PROFILE
• Higher secondary education in a relevant subject, or equivalent professional
experience.
• Strong experience in the use of administrative PC based tools (MS Office, etc.); an
experience of the Linux environment is, required.
• Good knowledge of software such as MS-ACCESS; knowledge of IP networks and
the Perl programming language would be an advantage.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate both orally and in writing, in a
multinational and multicultural environment; Proven ability to analyse information and
problems based on sound judgement; proven ability to work without supervision
under pressure and to meet strict deadlines.
• The working languages of the Agency are English and French. For this particular
post, candidates must have an excellent command of English and French.

EUROCONTROL EXPERIMENTAL CENTRE
The mission of the EUROCONTROL Experimental Centre (EEC), located at Brétignysur-Orge, south of Paris, is to carry out research and development in order to
improve European Air Traffic Management (ATM).
INFORMATION SYSTEMS SUPPORT (ISS)
This vacancy is in the Information System Support (ISS) Unit. ISS is one of the pillars
of the EEC internal support system and its mission is to provide IT technical support
to EEC users. Its scope of activity covers IT infrastructure, the UNIX and Microsoft
systems, telecommunications and the development of Business applications. The
postholder will be assigned to the Office IT and Service Desk Section of ISS.
DESIRED PROFILE
Higher secondary education and relevant studies in IT or equivalent professional
experience.
• Professional experience in the field of office applications, at least five years'
experience of Windows and PC and at least two years' experience in managing a
facilities management service as well as a mastery of ITIL are essential.
• Experience of a Helpdesk system (e.g. ARS Remedy), proven technical skills in
office application environments (SMS, McAfee Antivirus, Office Suite, Windows XP,
Windows server 2003, messaging and other administrative tools) and sound
experience in office applications project monitoring.
• Good interpersonal and organisational skills (adaptability, sense of responsibility,
autonomy, initiative, team spirit); ability to communicate in a multinational and
multicultural environment.
• The working languages of the Agency are French and English. Candidates must
have an excellent knowledge of English or French, with a working knowledge of the
other language. Knowledge of another European language would also be an
advantage.

The mission of the EUROCONTROL Experimental Centre (EEC), located at Brétignysur-Orge, south of Paris, is to carry out research and development in order to
improve European Air Traffic Management (ATM) and to pro-actively support the
coordination of R&D in Europe. The ACE Centre of Expertise provides ATM system
engineering and CNS expertise.
DESIRED PROFILE
• University degree or equivalent professional experience. Four to six years’
experience in engineering, aeronautics or ATM.
• Strong knowledge of ATFCM or en-route and TMA ATC ground systems and
operations.
• Some project and team management experience.
• The following would be considered an advantage:
- exposure to Human Factors and Safety cases;
- mathematical modelling expertise and mastering of data mining techniques;
- knowledge of airborne systems, flight management systems, airline operations.
• Very strong analytical, conceptual and synthesis skills; good team working and
communication skills (ability to write clear and concise technical reports), very flexible
and cooperative attitude.
• The working languages of the Agency are French and English. For this particular
post, candidates must have an excellent command of English and a working
knowledge of French.
